Father Byaruhanga Eulogized

The late Fr. Albert Byaruhanga has been eulogized as instrumental in the development of education in Rwenzori region.

Byaruhanga, died yesterday afternoon in an accident at Kyanda along the Mubende- Mityana road, while traveling to Fort Portal.

Byaruhanga has been the Chairman of the Council for Mountains of the Moon University and the founder of Kabarole Research Centre, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) operating in the Rwenzori region.

Professor Edward Rugumayo, the Chancellor Mountains of the Moon University says that Byaruhanga played a big role in the establishment of the university.

Rugumayo says that Byaruhanga solicited for funds both from the government and donor countries to help sustain the operations of the university.

Alex Ruhunda the Director of Kabarole research and Resource Centre (KRC) says that Byaruhanga was his mentor and has helped many disadvantaged people in the Rwenzori region.

Ruhunda also says that Byaruhanga helped KRC grow during the difficult times.

The Auxiliary Bishop Fort Portal Diocese, Bishop Joseph Mugenyi says that Byaruhanga played a big role in improving the health services of the diocese.

Mugenyi cites the establishment of the IV fluid factory whose construction, Byaruhanga initiated.
