Crime

Michael Obong, who is attached to Owo Police post in Patiko Sub County, appeared this morning before Nyanga.

Prosecution told court that on August 7 this year, Obong forced a female suspect who had been arrested for attempted suicide to have sex with him.

Dickson Ogwang, the state prosecutor said that after raping his victim Obong released her in the morning threatening to kill her if she reported the crime.

He said that rape victim reported the crime to her husband who in turn notified Police leading to the arrest of Obong.

Ogwang said that medical examinations showed that the woman sustained bruises in her private parts as a result of the rape.

Nyanga did not allow the suspect to enter any plea because his case can only be tried by high court.
