The HIV and AIDS forum in Oyam District has come under scrutiny following reports that special HIV basic care kits, intended for free distribution are being sold out.
An investigation by Francis Ongom, the district HIV and AIDS forum boss found out that two of his juniors have been involved in this errant behavior.
The two are Jane Abuc, the forum coordinator and Opio Simon Sedhu, the secretary. The duo has been relieved of their duties on the orders of the forum members.
They are accused of selling out kits and denying the patients of their rights to have free access to the basic care kits. The intended beneficiaries were mainly from Ngai, Otwal, and Iceme sub counties.
Susan Ajok, one of the beneficiaries says she was asked to pay 3,000 shillings for the kit. More than 40 other people also paid for the kits.
Ongom says that his office has also found out that more than 350 kits containing 2 treated nets, water guard, and a drug for treating water, were sold to members at Anyeke health centre four.
During what was meant a free distribution exercise on Wednesday.
