Tobacco Accountant Faked Abduction

Crime
Ronald Byaruhanga, the Leaf Tobacco and Commodities company accountant has been arrested for faking his abduction.
Byaruhanga was picked up yesterday evening after it emerged that he faked his abduction, to cover the theft of 40 million shillings from the company coffers.
Wennu Acidri, the manager of Leaf Tobacco and Commodity Company ltd says that, they became suspicious of Byaruhanga's abduction story when they realized that 40 million shillings was missing from their coffers.
Acidri says that they immediately called police to arrest Byaruhanga for questioning, because they believe he forged the abduction to cover up theft of company funds.
He says that the money in question was meant for paying the district ordinance and haulage fee, which Byaruhanga drew without authorization.

When contacted by Uganda Radio Network, Byaruhanga denied faking his abduction to cover the theft of company funds.
Byaruhanga said he had not yet over the trauma, as a result of torture from his abduction.
On Friday last week, Byaruhanga called his bosses claiming that he had been kidnapped by unknown people and taken to a forest in Maracha.
He claimed that his abductors were demanding that Leaf Tobacco and Commodities Ltd, pays Tobacco farmers their money, raising suspicion that he has been kidnapped by the farmers.
