The family of a 62-year-old Kiboga man is in mourning this Christmas following his brutal murder this week.
Matia Kezimbira of Kiteyimbwa village in Lwamatta sub-county went missing on Sunday. He was last seen leaving church on Sunday evening.
Yesterday Kezimbira's neighbors reported that an overpowering stench was coming from his house. Joseph Kalulanga, the area LC1 chairman, says a team of residents was sent to investigate the matter. They were horrified at what awaited them.
Kezimbira's body was badly mutilated. His arms had been chewed off by dogs and the body was much decayed.
Police in Kiteyimbwa say there are signs that Kezimbira was murdered and then dumped outside his house. However they have no clues on the motive for the murder.
Four bags of dry coffee were found inside the old man's house. Nothing appears to have been stolen.
Matia Kezimbira was a bachelor and he lived alone. Members of his extended family have recovered his body for burial today.
