Pastor Arrested for Rape

Pastor Elia Obomba, of Imvepi Pentecostal church in Arua has survived being killed by a mob for raping a married woman.
The incident occurred yesterday in Imvepi refugee settlement.
It is alleged that Obomba sneaked into his victim's house in the absence of her husband and pestered her for sex.
It is said that when the woman rejected his advances Obomba grabbed her and forced her into sex.
The woman made an alarm that attracted residents forcing Obomba to flee into hiding.
But before the matter was reported to police angry residents mounted a search for Obomba and dragged him from hide out.
Residents descended on Obomba and beat him into pulp before he was rescued by the Police from the mob.
Henry Alyang, the police spokesperson for northwestern region says that police is holding pastor Obomba, and three suspects who were part of the mob that tried to lynch him.

Alyang says that the results of the medical examination indicate that the woman was raped. Alyang, this is not the first time Obomba is accused of rape.
He says in October 2008, one of his female followers reported a case of rape against Obomba at Arua Police.

Abdu Andama, the deputy camp commandant for Imvepi refugee settlement area says that Obomba denied the fast rape case him saying that it was committed by his brother.
He says that when investigations were carried out it was discovered that Obomba had lied to them.
