The registration of National Resistance Movement members in Bukhooli South constituency in Bugiri has hit a snag.
The registration exercise grounded to a halt when Peter Patrick Ochieng; the Bukhooli south constituency NRM chairman, confiscated all the materials provided for the registration exercise.
Ochieng also sacked five NRM officials who were selected to conduct the registration exercise saying that, they were registering opposition supporters.
The officials are Asuman Balikowa, the chairman Buhemba Sub County, his deputy Boniface Gasala and Ibrahim Wamala, the chairman of Mwema parish.
Others are Adeti Kabenge, the Mutumba youths chairman and Isah Isabirye, the LC I chairman of Buhemba village.
Azalwa Baluboleile Malijan, the NRM Bugiri district administrator says that he has received several complaints regarding the NRM registration exercise in Bukholi south.
Malijan accuses Peter Patrick Ochieng, the Bukhooli NRM constituency chairman of blocking people who don't support him from registering.
He says that Ochieng is worried that Steven Mayende Dede, a senior six drop out is campaigning for his seat.
When contacted Ochieng, defended his decision to dismiss the registration officials and withdraw the registers.
Ochieng said that Bukhooli South is full of opposition officials who wanted to register as NRM members.
