Hamza Muwonge, the Cranes National football team goal keeper has been arrested.
Muwonge was arrested today morning in Zana for alleged assault, malicious damage and criminal trespass.
The matter was brought to the attention of the police, by Richard Bisherurwa, the Human resource director of police. Bisherurwa and Muwonge are neighbors whose homes are separated by a concrete stone perimeter wall.
Bisherurwa told police that he found Muwonge digging up his perimeter wall at 4:00am but Muwonge denied the allegations and instead turned violent and assaulted the police officer who came to arrest him.
He was quickly arrested, bundled on a police pick up and whisked off to Katwe police station.
Henry Kalulu, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, says Investigations are still underway to establish the actual circumstances surrounding Muwonge's arrest.
