Four students of Masindi Academy have been arrested in connection with the fire that gutted the school kitchen, early today.
The fire which started at around 4am destroyed cooking utensils and food items. The students being detained are Nicholas Mbabazi,
Conrad Kusiima, Christopher Byaruhanga and Connie Rubanga.
Juma Okungo, Masindi district police commander says that Nicholas Mbabazi is being held as the ring leader of the strike because he was recently involved in a quarrel with the cooks.
Gasper Andama, the head teacher of Masindi Academy says that they suspect the students to have started the Kitchen fire because they recently pinned a note on the kitchen threatening the cooks.
He says that in the note the students accused cooks of serving them rotten posho and beans. This is the second fire incident in Masindi, within a space of two days.
On Saturday fire gutted Family Spirit Child Care orphanage school under unclear circumstances.
