The Jinja Post primary schools soccer tournament has been by a financial crisis.
Diana Nyago, Secretary Jinja District School Soccer's Association says that they have run shot of fund to complete the tournament.
Nyago says that as a result, referees abandoned the soccer tournament at semi final stage until they are paid their money.
In the semi finals Jinja Secondary Schools was due to play Kakira High, while St Martha Secondary School was lined up to take on Jinja Parents School.
Nyago, who is the head teacher of Jinja Senior Secondary school says that she forked out shillings 650,000 from her school account to kick start the tournament.
She says that unless a sponsor is found there is nothing much she can do to salvage the tournament.
Baker Ntale, the head of Referees in Jinja says that they have been patients enough and cannot preside over any other matches until they are paid.
He says that the referee have had enough of the empty promises and now to be paid before the tournament resumes.
Over 60 secondary schools took part in the tournament which was held at four football pitches in Jinja.
