Hoima's errant UPDF soldier accused of terrorizing his family members in Kakooge village Buhimba Sub County has been re-arrested.
Private Moses Isingoma, attached to 5th Division Headquarters in Pader district, was re-arrested on Friday on the orders of the midwestern regional police commander, Mercellino Wanitho.
Zurah Ganyana, the midwestern regional police publicist, says Isingoma who claims to be on Pass Leave is accused of a number of offenses that range from arson, assault and malicious damage.
The UPDF soldier has been terrorizing his family members since February this year, beating up his relatives and torching their houses.
According to Ganyana among the many victims of Isingoma's criminal acts is 69-year-old Mary Kabatabazi, his aunt. He assaulted her on February 10; this year leaving her with severe body fractures. Kabatabazi has since been admitted at Hoima regional referral hospital.
Isingoma is reported to have also stabbed a one Godfrey Kyomuhendo, with a knife and vandalized his motorcycle.
On April 13, more than 100 members of Isingoma's family petitioned the Hoima RDC Martha Asiimwe demanding her intervention.
The family members led by Philemon Byabugahya listed 11 criminal offenses purported to have been committed against them by Isingoma in the last two months. The family members claim Isingoma has put their lives at stake with his terror acts.
Ganyana says the UPDF soldier is being held at Hoima police station and his case file is being compiled pending forwarding to the resident state Attorney for advice on the charges.
The UPDF soldier is reportedly mentally ill. He was first arrested in February this year and later released on police bond.
