James Isoke, the District Education Officer Hoima is dead. 51-year-old Isoke succumbed to death last night at Masindi District Hospital.
Patrick Isoke, the brother to the deceased says that, he died of diabetes which he has been battling for the past 16 years.
He says that the deceased was rushed from his home in Kyema to Masindi hospital in critical condition over the weekend.
Patrick Isoke, describes the deceased DEO as a great mentor and hardworking man who will be missed by his family.
|soke's body is still lying at his home in Kyema, where it will be transported to Kasomoro village in Kyabigambire later today for the funeral arrangements.
His colleagues in the education department, this morning received the news of Isoke's death with shock.
Johnson Kusiima Baingana, the school inspector in charge of Bugahya County says he last spoke to Isoke on Sunday on phone before he left for Masindi.
Kusiima says the death of Isoke is a major blow to the Hoima education department. He says that Isoke will be missed for his parental care and dedicated service.
Fred Musinguzi, the Head teacher Duhaga Boys primary school and Vice chairperson Hoima Head teachers Forum says Isoke has been so friendly to them and a good listener to the teachers.
Musinguzi says Isoke's good conduct is uncommon of officers of his caliber. He says that says an impromptu meeting of all head teachers has been called to discuss burial arrangements and their contribution towards burial expenses of Isoke.
Isoke assumed office in 1999 after serving as a grade 111 teachers in several schools.
He holds a Masters of Arts in Education Management and has been a part time Lecturer at Kampala International University. Isoke is survived with a wife and 8 children.
