More than 20 families remain in distress after a wave of floods hit their homes in Kolir Sub-County in Bukedea district.
Nobody was killed in the floods, although homes built into the mountainside have been destroyed.
Tomson Okereyag, the Kolir Sub-county LC3 Chairman, says their homes have either been washed away or submerged by the raging waters.
The flooding in Bukedea has affected mainly Aminit, Amutur and Komogomeri villages where more than 1000acres of food crops have been destroyed.
Okereyang explains that the flooding was made worse by the heavy rainfall that has hit the area in recent days.
The displaced families have sought shelter at schools and the authorities in Bukedea are appealing for the quick intervention from the disaster ministry.
