Joseph Amagu, the head teacher Atanga secondary school in Pader district, was this morning rushed to Atanga health center after he was attacked and beaten by striking students.
Francisco Chaka, Pader acting DPC said the students went on strike this morning protesting against the school's failure to provide a decent meal to students who participated in the just concluded athletics competitions.
The students claim they were fed on porridge alone for yet unclear reasons.
Angry at the way the administration was responding to their grievances, the students marched to the headmaster's office and threatened to burn up the office if he locked himself up.
Taking the threat serious, the headmaster decided to open up the office only to be attacked and beaten by the students.
They also beat up a teacher who is pregnant before turning their wrath on the area LC 11 chairman who had come to save the situation.
Police was called in and forced to fire teargas at the rowdy students.
Chaka said the situation is now calm. Attempts to get a comment from the school administration were futile.
