Rakai LC V Chairman in Trouble Over Forgery

News
Vincent Ssemakula, Rakai District LC5 chairman is wanted by the Criminal Investigations Department for forging his academic qualification.

Ssemakula has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department headquarters in Kibuli on August 02 for interrogations.

According to summons signed by Edward Ochom, the director of Criminal Investigations, Ssemakula is accused of forging his Ordinary and Advanced Level certificates

It is alleged that Ssemakula took exploited the death of his brother Ssemakula Ssetuba to start using certificates.

But Ssemakula, who received the summons today from Police detectives from the CID, denies using his dead brother's certificates.

Ssemakula says that allegations are fabricated by his rival to kill his political career.

He says that his papers were verified and cleared by Faith Mwondha, the former Inspector General of Government.

Ssemakula, who is vying to retain his Rakai LC5 seat, says he is not threatened by the allegations because both certificates belong to him.

He says that he studied at Lugazi Junior School and went to Busubizi Teachers Collage for Primary teacher's education and then studied his ordinary level by correspondence between 1976 and 1977 before joining Kyambogo TTC for a diploma in education.

In 2008, Joe Mukisa, the Rakai District Council Speaker petitioned IGG seeking the removal of Ssemakula from office forging his academic qualifications but the IGG Faith Mwonda cleared him.
