World food Programme [WFP] has started building food stores and warehouses in Teso sub region that will be used to sell food to the international market.
The warehouses are being constructed in Amuria, Soroti, Kaberamaido and Serere districts.
Jeff Mungu, the head of the WFP Soroti Office says that $ 100 million has earmarked for the project dubbed "Purchase for Progress".
Mungu says that the project is aimed boosting incomes of smallholder farmers through export to international markets.
According to Mungu, that the produce will be processed and packaged for export.

Eng. Francis Musinguzi, from Africare-Uganda who are implementing the project says that they will train farmers on food productivity, open access roads to the ware houses and connect farmers access market.
He said the project is a five-year initiative that will last up to the year 2014 to improve farmer's welfare.
