Police Withdraws Bodyguards of Amuria District Chairperson

Politics
Police has withdrawn the bodyguards of Julius Ochen, Amuria District LC V chairman under unclear circumstance.

Ochen says that both his escorts and body guard were recalled early this week, without explanation.

//Cue In "yah the escorts were.......................
Cue Out "............Guards were withdrawn"//

He has written to Amuria district council informing councilors of the withdrawal of his guards.

Ochen insists that he is entitled to the guards and escorts because of the fragile security situation in their area.

Amuria is one of the districts that suffered the brunt of the Lords Resistance War in Teso sub region.

Juma Hassan Nyene, the Mid Eastern police spokesman has declined to comment on the matter saying that he is not yet aware of the withdrawal of Ochen's escorts.

The withdrawal of Ochen's guards comes only a few days after his car was impounded by Police in Otuke during the ongoing NRM primary elections.

It is alleged that Ochen was found using the car for his campaigns in Lira and was charged with abuse office.
