Missing Ballots Delay NRM Polls in Kamwenge

The Election of NRM party flag bearers in Kamwenge has been delayed by lack of voting materials.

Voters at Kamwenge catholic social hall and East Rwenzori Diocesan grounds in Kamwenge town council were left queuing outside the polling station four hours after the polls had opened.

Poll delays, were also reported in Nyabitutsi in Kamwenge Sub County. The delays there were blamed on missing ballot papers.

At Nshorora poling station also in kamwenge town council, the NRM electoral officials there resorted to photocopies of the ballot papers, which were used in during grass root elections.

They claim that they couldn't trace the original ballot papers.


Mwesigwa Caleb Biryatwita, the Kamwenge district NRM registrar, however says that voting in the newly created sub county of Biguli had started off well.


He however says that his office has received reports of missing ballot papers in three villages of Biguli Sub County.


Voters in Nyakabungo, Maleere parish and Karokarungi village Kampala B parish have been affected by the missing ballots papers.


Reports from Kanyegaramire village in Maleere parish, show that ballot papers for LC three chairpersons polls have gone missing.
