NRM Supporters Turn Rowdy in Bukedea

Politics
Rowdy supporters of the NRM party in Bukedea have attempted to burn down the sub-county headquarters over a poll results dispute.
The irate mob stormed Kachumbala Sub County headquarters and threatened to lynch one of the presiding officers, in protest against Monday's botched NRM elections.
The mob destroyed all the ballot papers and scattered them in the district grounds and then went for the presiding officers head. He however escaped unhurt, prompting the deployment of police at the sub-county headquarters.
Juma Hassan Nyene, the Mid Eastern Police spokesperson, says six people have been arrested in connection with the chaos at Kachumbala sub county headquarters.
Four other people were earlier yesterday arrested in Malera Sub County for participating in election violence.
Meanwhile there is growing anxiety among NRM candidates and their supporters in the Teso sub region over the poll results.
The final poll results have not yet been released, but partial results in Soroti municipality, show senior NRM leaders in the lead.
Partial results show that the NRM Vice chairman for eastern region and former junior minister for health Capt. Mike Mukula was leading by over 50%, while the Soroti district NRM chairman was also in the lead.
In Katakwi, district LCV chairman John Robert Ekongot was also in the lead ahead of his closest closet rival Stephen Okure Illemukorit.
In Kaberamaido, the RDC John Elianu Eresu is trailing behind his opponent Dr. Patrick Omona by a bigger margin. While the former MP for Kaberamaido district and Kalaki county Mary Amajo and Martin Orech respectively were on a lead.
