Nominations for the Presidential and parliamentary elections kick off on 25th to 26th October 2010.
Districts chairpersons and councilors, Municipality chairpersons and councilors will be nominated on 4th to 5th November 2010 at their respective district and county headquarters.
For Sub-county chairpersons and councilors, the electoral commission has set 27th -29th October 2010 as dates for nominations at the county headquarters.
Eng. Badru Kiggundu, the chairperson Electoral Commission also issued guidelines for nomination of candidates. He urged the candidates to read all the guidelines carefully to avoid mistakes.

According to the guidelines, a presidential candidate is expected to submit their campaign program together with the nomination papers. This will enable Electoral Commission to harmonize campaign programs of all candidates as per the law.
Eng. Kiggundu says presidential candidates will submit a list of supporters to the electoral commission for verification at least 2 weeks before nomination dates.
