FDC Launches Youth Taskforce to Protect Votes

FDC has launched a special youth task force at Kiranya road in Jinja to monitor the 2011 general elections.

Meddie Mbentyo, Jinja FDC chief Mobilizer says that they decided to launch the task force as a result of rumors that have been circulating that all FDC supporters in Kirinya had crossed to the NRM.

Mbentyo explains that the youth have volunteered to mobilize support and protect the FDC vote in Jinja.

Abu baker Maganda, Jinja FDC chairman has welcomed the youth initiative. Maganda also hailed the police for granting them security to launch their youth task force.

Nagib Wakita, Kiranya road NRM mobilizer's task force says that he is not threatened the new group. Wakita says that over 350 FDC supporters recently defected to the NRM after they were handed a brand new car of registration number UAN 123C.

He says that the taxi has already started operating along the Jinja-Kamuli road.
