Moses Kigongo, the national vice chairman of the NRM has disowned Peter Ochieng, as the NRM flag bearer for Bukooli South MP seat. Kigongo alleges that Ochieng forged the primary election results he presented to the NRM secretariat to declare him elected.
According to Kigongo, Steven Mayende Dede won the NRM flag bearer for Bukooli South after polling 17,278 votes against 16,274 votes polled by Ochieng.
Kigongo's Message was delivered to voters in Bukooli south on Thursday by Abubakar Menya Kibedi, the Eastern Vice chairman NRM yellow brigade. Kibedi said people involved in forging results are ruining the image of the party amongst voters.
He appealed to NRM primary election losers to accept defeat and wait for the next polls. Dede has welcomed the ruling saying that no amount of guns and teargas will change the decision of voters in Bukooli south.
Dede accuses the RDC and other NRM officials of turning a deaf ear when Ochieng was messing up the NRM primary elections.
