News
Police in For Portal are holding ten thugs who have allegedly been terrorizing people in Fort-portal and some parts of Kampala.

The suspects are Godfrey Binaisa, Mayengo Meddi, Akune Fred, andJulius Matovu all residents of Kampala.

The others are Charles Muganzi, Steven Kyaligonza, George Tuhaise, Robert Musinguzi and Deo Mugisa all security guards attacked to Rwenzori Tea Commodities Buzirasagama in Busoro sub county Kabarole district.

On Friday, Gideon Kambaho, the Deputy Criminal Investigations Department Chief, paraded the suspects before the press.

The CID Chief told journalists that the suspects on September 12th, allegedly used a gas cylinders to break into the office of the accountant Rwenzori Tea commodities Buzirasagama.

Faiza Saleh a business tycoon in Fort Portal reported to the police the robbery of 70m shs from his shop on the night of 12th September brought the case to the attention of the police.

They also allegedly stole 33.8 million shillings, which was locked up in a safe.

The police say, the security guards on duty that night were found lying unconscious and chances are high that they could have been drugged before the thugs gained entry into the offices.

Police however do not rule out the possibility that the guards could have had a hand in the robbery.

The thugs were intercepted along the Kampala Mubende highway, traveling in vehicle registration number UAG 964E.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing 13m shs from the Rwenzori Tea Commodities accountant's office but denied robbing Faiza Sakeh.
