Three Arrested for Defacing Campaign Posters

Election
Three supporters of Theodore Ssekikubo, Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament are in trouble for defacing campaign posters of Foreign Affairs minister Sam Kuteesa.

The suspects are Rajab Kiwanuka, Godfrey Kisakye and Jamir Muyanja. The suspects were charged on Monday before Moses Kule Lubangula, Ssembabule Grade one magistrate.

Prosecution told court that the trio and others still at large on 15 September at various places in Ssembabule town council destroyed the campaign posters of Kuteesa.

It is alleged that the suspects committed the offense during celebrations to welcome Ssekikubo shortly after he was declared NRM flag bearer for Ssembabule MP Seat.
The trio pleaded not guilty to the charges and Moses Kule, Ssembabule grade one magistrate remanded them to prison until 12 October. Kule said that releasing the suspects on court bond could jeopardize police investigations and the arrest of the other suspects.
