Mubende UPE Teachers Get Low Cost Houses

News
Government has launched a scheme to build low cost houses for teachers in the Universal Primary Education schools.
The Ministry of education and sports is funding the construction and rehabilitation of the teachers' houses in various government-aided schools in the country. The new houses are fixed with a water reservoir tank, a solar power system and VIP latrines.
Commissioning three such houses at Kyanamugera Primary School in Myanzi, Mubende district on Wednesday, the Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya said that the future of Uganda lies in solving the present problems of the people like availing solar electricity to the rural people using affordable solar panels.
He also said that government is working hard to avail co-operative micro finance schemes offering low interest loans and credit facilities especially to low income earners like teachers.
The three units were built at a total of forty million shillings and will accommodate seven teachers.
