Three people have died and many others have been injured in a bus accident along the Kampala –Gulu highway.
The identities of the dead are Jasper Okello, the deputy director medical teams at Mulago hospital, Godfrey Anyollo and Nelson Oketch both businessmen in Lira town.
The injured have been transfered from clinics and health centers in Bombo town, to Mulago Hospital.
The accident this morning, occurred in Bombo town about 18 kilometers to Kampala, when the bus heading to Kampala from Lira overturned several times.
The bus registration number UAL 821N belongs to Achan-Diro Bus Company.
The cause of the accident is not yet clear, but Ibn Ssekumbi, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, does not rule out the possibility that the accidents could have been caused by over speeding.
Senkumbi, says the death toll is likely to rise because some bodies were still trapped in the bus wreckage.
Police says it will provide more details about the incident in an hour's time.
