Two Incumbent MPs In Bundibugyo Lose In Fresh NRM Primaries

Politics
Two incumbent Members of Parliament in Bundibugyo have lost in the fresh NRM primary elections. They are Jane Alisemera, incumbent Bundibugyo Woman MP and her counterpart Tom Matte of Bughendera County.

Jane Alisemera was defeated by Harriet Ntabazi, a teacher at Bundibugyo Secondary School. Ntabazi was today declared winner by Isaya Kyaya, the Bundibugyo NRM administrative secretary.

Ntabazi polled 41716 votes while Alisemera polled 21374 votes. In September, the NRM electoral commission nullified the election of Ntabazi after Alisemera petitioned the commission citing electoral malpractices.

While Tom Matte, was defeated by Acrobat Kizza. Kizza emerged winner with 42,450 votes while Matte got 25,670 votes. Both Alisemera and Matte say that they will stand as independents in next year's general elections.

In Kyenjojo district, where elections were held in 64 villages, the incumbent MP Mwenge North, Tom Butiime was declared winner with 24715 votes while his opponent David Muhumuza got 21320 votes.

In September, the district NRM electoral commission had announced Muhumuza winner and yet voting did not take place in the 64 villages.
