Arua District Chairman in Trouble over forged Academic papers

Crime
The Arua District Chairman, Richard Andama Ferua, has been accused of presenting forged academic papers to the electoral commission.
Ferua, who is seeking re-election on the National Resistance Movement ticket, presented copy of a forged Makerere University Bachelor of Arts Certificate, bearing the name Richard Jee Ferua Andama. He claims that he was awarded a degree on 6th October 2000.
Ferua's academic papers were investigated by CID officials at Kira Road police station after his political rival Dan Opima, challenged the papers.
Opima says that police inspected Ferua's academic records at Makerere University and found out that there were no records to show that Richard Jee Ferua Andama was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree on 6th October 2000.

Amos Olal-Odur, Makerere University's Academic Registrar, sent a letter to the CID indicating that the signatures on Mr. Richard Jee Ferua Andama's Degree certificate are different from the genuine signatures.
Olal-Odur's letter also indicates that the fonts used to print the name and the award on Ferua's papers differs from the fonts used by Makerere University.
The Academic Registrar concludes that the copy of the Degree Certificate submitted by Ferua was forged.
Ferua was not available for a comment on his academic papers.
