Denis Obwot Ocira, a contestant for the Nwoya District LC V chair has been arrested for alleged impersonation and theft of land.
Ocira was picked up this morning for allegedly selling off a piece of land belonging to George Wokorach, a resident of Pece cubu ward of Gulu Municipality.
He allegedly committed the offense when he sold the land to Steven Okello, in 2009 at shillings 8.2 million. The sale agreement indicates that Obwot impersonated George Wokorach when he was selling off the land.
Wokorach says that he discovered that his land was sold off after Okello started constructing a residential house on the land.
According to Wokorach, Okello told him he bought the land from Obwot who also sold him some building materials that were at the site.
Wokorach wants his building materials and the land back.
Henry Akera, Gulu acting Officer in charge of Criminal Investigation Department says that they are still investigation the allegation before taking another step.
