Officials of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party in Hoima are celebrating their overwhelming triumph against the opposition in the just concluded parliamentary elections.
NRM candidates swept all the parliamentary seats in Hoima. Henry Muganwa Kajura, the NRM candidate for Hoima Municipality retained his seat, while Tophace Kaahwa took the district.
James Kiiza Rwebembera, the NRM candidate beat his FDC rival and Hoima party Chairman Jackson Wabyona to take the Bugahya seat, while Julius Bigirwa Junjura took the Buhaguzi parliamentary seat.
President Yoweri Museveni scooped 85 percent of the votes in Hoima.
Yunus Mugabe, the Hoima District NRM secretary general says that they have a reason to move with their heads high. He says that the NRM victory means and end to the opposition lies that they have gained ground in Hoima and Bunyoro in general.
He particularly warned FDC officials in the district to stop lying to Besigye that he has captured Bunyoro.

The NRM official says that the party has embarked on a vigorous campaign for its candidates at local councils so that the party can win and consolidate its strength.

Francis Atugonza the FDC party National secretary for trade and industry declined to comment on the matter.
Atugonza is the only candidate FDC is looking forward to in Bunyoro after suffering a loss in the just concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.
