Forum for Democratic Change in Mbale who lost in the parliamentary elections have petitioned court challenging the results declared by Electoral Commission.

Rabbi Sizomu Wambede the FDC candidate for Bungokho North, Martin Wanda Bungokho South and Mariam Nagudi, the FDC candidate for the Mbale Woman MP seat allege that the elections were fraught with several irregularities.

Sizomu contested and lost the Bunghoko North parliamentary seat to Yahaya Gudoi of the National Resistance movement by a slim margin. Sizomu polled 15,127 votes behind his main challenger Gudoi who polled 16,700 votes.

He claims his supporters and agents were beaten by security officials and chased away from polling stations in Bufumbo Sub-county. Sizomu claims that ballots papers were stuffed after his agents were beaten and chased away from polling stations.

Now the Rabbi says the Electoral Commission aided his rival to win the irregularly win the elections. He says he has instructed Forum for Democratic Change lawyer Gyabi Bukeni to work on the petition which will be presented to court before end of this week.
Mariam Nagudi who contested for the Mbale Woman Member of Parliament has also rejected the results and gone to court to seek redress.

Nagudi garnered 41,331 votes way behind Connie Galiwango of NRM who polled 50,109 votes. But Nagudi like Rabbi Sizomu has refused to accept defeat and gone to court to seek redress. She claims supporters of her opponent stuffed ballots in Nakaloke polling station and in Bunghoko South Constituency.
Martin Wanda who contested and lost to Minister Werikhe is also challenging the results despite trailing with a big vote margin. Wanda polled 11,295 below Werikhe's 22,395 votes.
