Police in Masaka have arrested a Rwandese national for allegedly being in possesio of marijuana worth 500,000shillings.
Issa Sanzimaana, is jointly accused with Vincent Katongole, Yonna Biwanda, Robert Anguyo and Ziraba Nyare.
The suspects were found with a bag full of papers, which they were using to wrap processed marijuana.
Eddie Sserunjogi, the Masaka district police commander, says the suspects are part of a bigger ring of people who have been selling marijuana to night watch men and boda-boda cyclists in Masaka district's Nyendo and Kyabakuza suburbs.
These suspects are being held at Masaka central police and they will be charged for illegal possession of marijuana.
Police in Masaka said that there is rampant crime rate in Masaka municipality arising from the unregulated consumption of marijuana and other forms of narcotics.
