Jackson Wabyona, the Hoima District Forum for Democratic Change chairperson is in trouble for assaulting a polling official.
Jackson Wabyona is accused of assaulting Pamela Busiinge, a polling Assistant at Bucuunga Church of Uganda, in Mparo Division Hoima Municipality.
He was picked up by police hours after the incident. Busiinge explains that Wabyona visited the polling station claiming that they had come to check on their polling agents.
But minutes after they started questioning the polling officials on why the voters were so close to the polling table.
Busiinge says that Wabyona also complained that they were allowing non registered voters to vote. She says that an argument ensued before Wabyona assaulted her forcing the election constables to intervene.
She denies claims that they were allowing non registered voters to participate in the exercise.

Meanwhile Wabyona who spoke to journalists at Hoima police station denies assaulting the polling officials insisting that Busiinge was only panicking because of guilty after being caught in electoral malpractice.
Wabyona says as they stood by the polling station a vehicle ferried voters twice to the polling station and they were allowed to vote without checking their names on the register.
The FDC alleges that the voters were being ferried from Kyabigambire Sub County and other areas outside the municipality.
Meanwhile drama ensued at Hoima police station as Wabyona and the Hoima district returning officer Erasmus Kimbowa exchanged hot words. Kimbowa accused the FDC boss of interfering with his official's work.

Yunus Mugabe, Hoima district NRM general secretary admits that they helped in transporting voters to polling stations especially from villages.
Mugabe however denies accusations that they asked voters to vote for a particular candidate. He also denied claims of voter bribery.
Mugabe has been accused by Mayoral candidates Francis Atugonza and David Maxwell Kaboyo of dishing out money to voters to influence them vote for NRM candidate Grace Mary Mugasa.
By press time FDC party officials led by Francis Atugonza and Joseph Muganyizi, the party's General Secretary had camped at Hoima police station as Wabyona was recording his statement.
They have vowed not to leave the police until he is released.
Hoima District Police Commander Augustine Kasangaki couldn't readily comment on the arrest as he was out in the field supervising the exercise.
