Samuel Area, the Bata Sub County NAADS coordinator in Dokolo district, has been sacked for alleged abuse of office.
Area was sacked on the orders of Julius Peter Odongkara, the chief administrative officer. His troubles stem from his alleged failure to follow procurement procedures.
A letter signed by the Dokolo district chief administrative officer, a copy of which Uganda Radio Network has seen, states that Area failed to follow procurement procedures and acted in total defiance of the NAADS phase two implementation guidelines.
Area allegedly procured maize seeds of lower standard and yet the farmers expected hand hoes, and both beans and Maize seeds.
In the letter, the CAO also directs the Batta Sub County chief, never to deal with Area in any matters concerning the NAADS project.
Area admits that he never followed the procurement guidelines and has asked for pardon.
