One person has died and 8 others seriously injured in a motor accident along Kiruhura-Ibanda Road in Ibanda district.
The accident occurred last evening at Nyabugyira near Ibanda - Kiruhura boarder, when a tipper lorry swerved off the road and over turned.
Shaban Teeko, Ibanda Police Traffic Officer only identifies the deceased as Tumushabe, a resident of Rukokoma in Ibanda town council.
Teeko says that the driver lost controlled while attempting to dodge a boda boda motorist and swerved off the road before over turning several times.
He says that Tumushabe was killed on the spot while 8 other people who were aboard the tipper truck sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
He says that investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
