Three people have been injured severely in an accident that occurred this evening along the Lira Kampala highway.
The Three passengers were traveling to Kamdini in Oyam district, when the vehicle they were traveling in
Burst its tire, skidded off the road and rolled over several times.
Juvenile Rwabakama, the Lira traffic officer, says that the accident occurred shortly after Otino Wa café at Corner Apii, about 10Km along Kampala highway from Lira town.
The traffic officer also says that the Toyota corolla registration number UAE 457E, was carrying 10 passengers contrary to the recommended six passengers.
The three injured passengers including a 3-year-old child were rushed to Lira refferal hospital. The child has however been confirmed dead.
Okello Andrew, a local resident who witnessed the accident, says that the driver was over speeding.
