Posta-Uganda Leases Land to IGG

Posta-Uganda has leased part of its land, to pave way for the construction of an office block for the Inspector General of Government.

The IGG is currently renting six floors on Jubilee House at a cost of 1.2 billion shillings annually.

The 0.617 hectares of land are neighboring the Prime Ministers Offices, stretching between Yusufu Lule and Clement Roads.

James Arinaitwe managing director Posta Uganda says the transaction is approximately 2.5 billion shillings.

He says it considered the interests of government, Posta-Uganda and the IGG’s office.

Raphael Baku, the IGG says the acquisition of land for the construction of a permanent office block will rise the profile of his office.

He says within 2-3 years ground breaking for the construction of a seven-storied office block shall commence.

Waiswa Bageya IGG permanent secretary says over 2.5 billions has already been secured for the construction project.

During today’s site tour of the place, the occupying tenants that include: Kezia Mugisha restaurant were handed over to the office of the IGG.
