Nebbi Man Murders His Mother Over Witchcraft
Ferdinand Wanok Pacutho, a resident of Alengo village in Nebbi Town Council has been arrested in connection to the death of his mother. Pacutho allegedly killed his mother Lucy Adubango last evening accusing her of witchcraft.
Henry Mulindwa, Nebbi district Criminal Investigations Department Officer says that Pacutho used a huge stone to shatter the head of his mother. But Kevin Donge, a family member says that Pacutho has a mental problem.
He explains that Pacutho worked with Electoral commission as the Thatha parish supervisor in Nebbi Town Council but was fired because of mental problems.
Kevin says that since then, Pacutho has been accusing members of his family of witchcraft. Openjo Terenzo, another relative of Pacutho says that the suspect became hostile when two traditional healers were brought from the Democratic Republic of Congo to treat him from his ailment.
But Pacutho, who is being held at Nebbi police station, said that Adubango tried on two occasions to use him for ritual sacrifice that’s why he decided to end her life.
Mulindwa says that Pacutho will be subjected to a thorough medical examination to
ascertain his mental status.
He says that the suspect will be relocated if found to be with a mental problem because he has become dangerous to communities but vowed to charge him with murder is he is found to be normal.
