Kyankwanzi District Hunts for Permanent Home

Local government
The authorities in Kyankwanzi district local government want to establish permanent district Head quarters.

The district, which was curved out of Kiboga district and oeprationalised on July 1st 2010, has been grappling with space to accommodate the staff and run its business.

Some of the district’s administrative units in Kyankwanzi are housed in the former Butemba sub-county Head quarter’s buildings, while some other departments are operating from makeshift structures.

Ddamulira Leopold Kinene, the District LCV chairperson, says it has become increasingly difficult to sustain the district’s activities from cramped up spaces. The district is looking for a 50-acre piece of land to pave way for the construction of permanent headquarters.

Ronald Makanga, the Butemba sub county councilor says the development of Kyankwanzi district land should be made a priority.

He noted that effective service delivery to the people must be backed by proper working conditions.
