The death of a two-year-old toddler in a Baptism trough has sparked trouble for the Seventh Day Adventist church there.
Ojokuna John Elatu, the Kibaale district police commander, explains that the two-year-old boy identified as Francis Byamukama Michael, tripped fell and died in the water filled Baptism trough, popularly known as baptism Jordan.
The Baptism trough belongs to the Kagadi Seventh Day Adventist church.
Enraged by Wednesday’s incident, the residents in the area, scooped huge amounts of soil and sealed off the trough.
The District Police Commander Kibaale says that Police has preferred a case of Negligence against the church.
Police was worried that the anger of the people could soon spiral out of control and result into violence.
The church has not yet reacted to the incident.
