Kaihura Transfers Mutabazi to Mechanical Workshop

Police
Alponse Mutabazi, the OC Jinja Road Police station who was suspended for accompanying the UPC party president on a walk to work protest march has been redeployed at the Forces Mechanical Workshop.
Alphonse Mutabazi, the officer in charge of Jinja road police station has been transferred to the police mechanical workshop.

The transfer comes a week after Mutabazi was suspended for escorting UPC party President Olara Otunnu, on a walk to work protest.

Mutabazi was pictured in the company of Otunnu who walked from Nakawa to his party headquarters at Uganda house.

Mutabazi has now been deployed at the police workshop located on port bell road and will be in charge of repairing the forces cars and motor cycles.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi, confirmed to URN about Mutabazi’s redeployment. Ssenkumbi however says Mutabazi is still under investigation for disobedience of lawful orders and insubordination.

Senior officers at the workshop will now deploy Mutabazi to any office they see fit.

After escorting Otunnu and Mafabi last week, Mutabazi told journalists off record that his move to escort Otunnu had been applauded by the IGP and there were plans to use the same tactic with the FDC President Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
