Police is holding Nabillah Nagayi, the Kampala District Woman MP elect for staging the walk to Work protest. Nabillah was picked this morning at Kabalagala on her way to the city center.
An eye witness says that Nabillah left her home driving and parked her car at Kampala International University where she started walking with other protestors.
She was however intercepted a few meters from Kabalagala trading center. During the arrest, Police also roughed up a WBS journalist William Ntege who was recording the protests.
It is alleged that Ntege was dragged in the mud by the cops who accused him of recording the procession. Judith Nabakooba, the police spokesperson says that the legislator will be charged with disobeying lawful orders.
She claims that Nabillah defied police orders to disperse an illegal assembly.
On Vincent Ssekate, the deputy police spokesman denies that William Ntege, the WBS journalist was roughed up.
