Police in Kamuli have arrested a woman for allegedly killing her two-year-old step daughter.

The deceased has been identified as Becca Nairuba, daughter of Agnes Biiri.

Police says, the incident on Saturday morning occurred just as the girl’s mother went to the home of Mbago Grace, her former husband in Buluuya Parish, in Kamuli district to seek medical treatment for her ailing daughter.

The woman says that she received a warm welcome, despite the absence of her ex-husband. She then decided to move around the trading center awaiting the return of her child’s father.

But on returning home she found her two-year-old daughter lying in a pool of blood.

Musa Nabende, the Kamuli police district commander, says that preliminary investigations show that the girl was stabbed and killed by her step mother.
