Army finally names slain UPDF officers in Somalia

The army has finally released the identities of the UPDF soldiers who were killed by Al-Shabab militants in Somalia over the weekend.
 
 
The deceased have been identified as Lt. Colonel Patrick Tibihwa of the 23rd battalion, Lt Lawrence Tugume from the Tank Battalion, Cpl Abdullah Isabirye and Pte Augustine Kuloba.

Lt. Colonel Patrick Tibihwa hails from Kasese District, Bukonzo County, Mukunyu Sub-County, Nyamahunza Village.
 
 
Lt. Colonel, Felix Kulaigye, the UPDF spokesman explains that Tibihwa were hit during a mop up operation by AMISOM after capturing Bondere district. Kulayigye does not not divulge further details.
 
 
He however says that despite the set backs, AMISON forces have had significant success with the Transitional Federal Parliament in Somalia now controlling about 70 percent of Mogadishu.
