Police in Malaba border on Sunday shot and injured one of the thugs that had just robbed off money and property belonging to a Kenyan hawker.
Musa Omungat, a resident of Obore village in Malaba town council is currently admitted in Tororo hospital in critical condition, after police on routine patrol shot at his leg as he attempted to flee.
Omungat together with four others, had just robbed off 10, 000 Kshs (about 270,000 Ugandan shillings) and a bag full of new clothes from Ali Osman in Obore village at 4:00a.m.
Michael Odongo, the Bukeddi Region Police Spokesperson, says Omungat is believed to be part of the hard core criminals that have been terrorizing the border town community.
Odongo says Omungat who is receiving treatment in handcuffs is closely being monitored by the police.
