The victim is David Mutebi, a resident of Kigando village in Mulagi Sub County in Kyankwanzi district. Mutebi told URN this morning at Kiboga hospital that the drum burst into flames when he opened it to add more ethanol mixtures to the alcohol.

He says that immediately he had the blast he escaped for dear life but escaped with severe burns on the body.  According to Mutebi, his late father Joseph Mutebi died in 2008 under similar circumstances.

Dr Stephen Kawesi, who is attending to Mutebi, says that his life is out of danger. He says that they have done all they can to save the life of Mutebi and will continue observing him until as he recuperates.
