A concert swamped by close to 1,000 revelers on Friday night in Mbale, turned chaotic after the revelers waited in vain for the entertainers.
The concert organizers had told the revelers that local musicians Jose Chameleon and Bebe Cool, would entertain them, at African Golden Gardens, but by 1:30am the musicians were no where to be seen, sparking off a wave of rage as the revellers grabbed stones and bottles aiming them at athe stage.
In a featt of rage, the revelers stormed up with force, broke bottles and chairs forcing some people to escape through the fence.
By Saturday morning, pieces of broken chairs and beer bottles were seen covering a one kilometer stretch from African Golden Gardens in Senior Quarters, to Clock-tower round about, in Mbale central business district. A group of workers could be seen trying to clear broken glasses, bottles and chairs.
Mary Wangari Kigo, a local journalist who was at the concert described the scene as terrible.
