Residents of Birimbi in Nyabubare Sub County in Bushenyi have asked thedistrict police commander to give them a police post in order to check on the high level of crime in their area.
The residents, who on Saturday met for a security evaluation meeting askedJoab Wabwire, the district police commander to consider re-establishing a police post in Birimbi, on grounds that the area has been rocked by thieves.
Bashir Ruhamiire, a businessman told the meeting that t he has lost two heifers to thieves this month and said that he was ready to donate some land to pave way for the construction of a police post.
Ruhamiire said that Birimbi had a police post but some people early this year demolished the house they were staying in forcing the DPC to re-call them.
DPC Wabwire asked residents to make a formal request to police.
