A suspected criminal has committed suicide in Hoima.
The suspect identified as Godfrey Nsubuga, a resident of Nakulabye, a Kampala city suburb, was found hanging in a hotel room on Friday morning.
Augustine Kasangaki, the Hoima district police commander, says police found a police bond document, the deceased obtained from Nakulabye police post, but details of the case were not clear.
The DPC says that the deceased used a bed sheet as hios noose and hanged himself in a room he had hired at Africa Lodge in Hoima town.
The director Africa lodge, Gloria Kachoipere, said on Saturday that Nsubugta arrived at the hotel on Thursday night and paid 10,000 shillings for a room and told his hosts that he would leave on Friday morning.
But by mid day on Friday, Nsubuga was no where to be seen sparking off concerns by the hotel workers who found his door locked. They alerted police and using a hammer; police broke the door and found him dead with a bed sheet tied around his neck.
The body has been taken to Hoima hospital mortuary as police investigates the circumstances of Nsubuga's death.
