Ten people were last night seriously injured by lightning that struck three different places in Amuru Sub County, Amuru district.
The victims include the woman councilor for Toro parish, Concy Alwoc and six members of her family.
James Kilara, the Amuru Local Council Three chairman says they were sleeping in one hut when lightning struck and threw them out before burning the hut to ashes.
An instructor at Amuru Technical School only identified as Atube and two others were also injured by the lightning that struck Amuru trading center.
Kilara says the incident happened at around 9:00pm during a heavy storm that also destroyed several gardens of crops.
This is the second time lightning is striking Amuru. On Tuesday night a primary six pupil of Pabbo primary school was killed and two others seriously injured by lightning.
In a separate incident lightning also struck and damaged a solar panel at Awer health center II. Lamogi sub county Chairman, Atkinson Ojara said the storm also destroyed several hectors of crops in Palema parish.
